Middle School

Welcome to Our Middle School

Welcome to our vibrant middle school, where students in grades 6-8 embark on a transformative journey that bridges childhood and young adulthood. Our program is thoughtfully designed to prepare your child not only for high school success but for a lifetime of purpose, service, and faith.

Rooted in Catholic Values

At the heart of our educational mission are the timeless Catholic values that guide every aspect of our students' development. We believe in nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—fostering intellectual curiosity while strengthening moral character. Our students learn to live with integrity, compassion, and respect for all members of God's creation. Through daily prayer, liturgical celebrations, and service to others, we help young people discover their unique gifts and calling.

Teaching the Whole Child

Our comprehensive approach to education recognizes that middle school students are at a crucial developmental stage. We provide rigorous academic instruction while supporting social, emotional, and spiritual growth. Our dedicated faculty creates an environment where students feel safe to take intellectual risks, explore their interests, and develop the critical thinking skills essential for high school and beyond. We celebrate each student's individual strengths while challenging them to reach their full potential.

Service Learning in Action

Service to others is a cornerstone of our Catholic identity, and our robust service learning program connects classroom learning with real-world impact in our community. Students engage in meaningful projects that address local needs while developing empathy, social awareness, and a commitment to justice. From food drives to environmental initiatives, our young people learn that they have the power to make a positive difference in the world around them.

Preparing for the Future

Our comprehensive middle school program ensures that students graduate confident, well-prepared, and excited for the challenges of high school. Through rigorous academics, character formation, and diverse extracurricular opportunities, we equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to thrive in their next chapter and beyond.

Together, we inspire young minds and hearts to serve God and others with excellence.

Academic Overview

Our middle school program provides a rigorous, faith-centered education that prepares students for academic excellence while nurturing their spiritual growth. Through carefully selected curricula and dedicated instruction, we challenge students to think critically, grow in their faith, and develop the skills necessary for success in high school and beyond.

Core Curriculum

Middle School House System

One of the distinctive features of our middle school is our dynamic house system, which divides students into six houses that foster belonging, leadership, and healthy competition. This system creates smaller communities within our larger school family, allowing students to form meaningful connections across grade levels. Through house activities, competitions, and collaborative projects, students develop teamwork skills, school pride, and lasting friendships that support their growth throughout their middle school years. The houses embark on service learning projects within the community throughout the year.

Students in grades six through eight are divided into mixed-grade-level Houses. Each House is named after a Saint and has a special House prayer. Students gather with their Houses three times during the school day: for morning prayer and announcements, for prayer before lunch, and for afternoon prayer and dismissal. Time is set aside each month for House Meetings. This is a time when team building and goal setting take place and plans are made for socials and service projects. A friendly competition is ongoing among individual students and among Houses for highest monthly points.

Our houses are:

St. Gregory the Great House

St. Paul House

St. Thomas Aquinas House

St. Maximilian Kolbe House

St. John Newmann House

St. Benedict House

National Junior Honor Society

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society qualifies students who demonstrate outstanding performance in all five criteria, scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship and character. After the fall semester those students with the required 3.7 cumulative GPA are invited to complete an application and essay to be reviewed for acceptance. There is an induction ceremony during the spring semester for those who applied and qualified during the fall semester of the year. NJHS has monthly meetings where they focus on service around the school and community building. Service to the community consists of a service project trip each year to places like The Women' s Sanctuary and a school wide canned food drive that benefits the Samaritan House.

The Chums Program at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School

At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, our beloved Chums program creates meaningful connections that strengthen our school community and embody the spirit of Christian fellowship. This cherished tradition pairs older students with younger classmates, fostering mentorship, friendship, and spiritual growth throughout the academic year.

How Chums Works

Each older student is thoughtfully matched with a younger student, creating partnerships that extend beyond the classroom. These special pairs sit together during our weekly Mass celebrations, sharing in prayer and worship as a united school family. Throughout the year, Chums participate in exciting activities and events designed to strengthen their bond and create lasting memories.

The Benefits of Having a Chum

For Younger Students:

  • Gain a caring mentor who provides guidance and encouragement
  • Develop confidence through positive peer relationships
  • Receive academic support and study assistance
  • Feel more connected and secure within the school community
  • Learn important social skills through structured interaction

For Older Students:

  • Develop leadership skills and a sense of responsibility
  • Practice empathy and compassion in action
  • Strengthen their own faith through service to others
  • Build communication and mentoring abilities
  • Experience the joy of making a positive difference

Classroom Support

Chums play an active role in supporting their younger partners' academic success. Older students may help with reading practice, provide homework assistance, and offer encouragement during challenging lessons. This peer-to-peer support creates a nurturing learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks, knowing they have a dedicated friend cheering them on.
