School Counselor

At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, our dedicated school counselor serves as a vital resource for the entire school community, focusing on the support and wellbeing of our students, families, and staff.
Our Counselor's Role
Our school counselor is committed to fostering a nurturing environment where every member of our community can thrive. They provide comprehensive support services designed to help students develop both academically and personally while maintaining the strong values that define our Catholic school community. School counseling is not intended to be a replacement for outpatient therapy services, but instead be a supplemental service to aid students in growth at school. The school counseling office can assist families in accessing outpatient mental health services such as individual and group therapy, social skills classes, and psychological/neuropsychological assessments and evaluations within the community.

Our Approach
Our School counselor plays a critical role in ensuring student safety by identifying and responding to signs of suicidal risk. Trained in risk assessment and crisis intervention, our counselor provides a safe, confidential space for students to express their thoughts and emotions. They assess the level of risk, initiate appropriate interventions, and collaborate with parents, school staff, and mental health professionals to create a comprehensive support plan in accordance with the policies of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. By acting quickly and compassionately, our school counselor helps protect students’ well-being and connect them to the care they need.
