Spiritual Life at SEAS

Faith-Centered Education
At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, our Catholic faith forms the foundation of everything we do. The Catholic faith is taught at all grade levels, from Pre-K 3 through 8th grade, and is beautifully intertwined throughout each academic subject. Our students begin and end each school day in prayer, creating a sacred rhythm that honors God and centers our learning community in faith.
Weekly Worship and Prayer
Students gather weekly for Mass on Thursdays, providing a consistent opportunity for communal worship and spiritual growth. Throughout the school year, our students have numerous opportunities to deepen their prayer life through praying the rosary together and participating actively in liturgical celebrations as readers, cantors, and altar servers.
Sacramental Preparation
We are blessed to support our students' sacramental journey within our school community. Second grade students receive comprehensive sacramental preparation for both Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, while our sixth grade students participate in Confirmation preparation during their theology classes, guided by dedicated faculty who help prepare their hearts and minds for this important milestone.

Liturgical Celebrations and Traditions
Our school calendar is rich with Catholic traditions that bring our faith to life. During Lent, students participate in the Stations of the Cross, reflecting on Christ's passion and sacrifice. We celebrate the Crowning of Mary, honor saint feast days throughout the year, and come together for all-school rosary prayers. Each class is assigned a patron saint and celebrates that saint's feast day, creating special connections between students and the communion of saints. Our middle school students participate in several faith-centered retreats throughout the year, providing deeper opportunities for spiritual reflection and growth. These traditions create lasting memories and deepen our students' understanding of the liturgical calendar and Catholic heritage.
Character Formation and Recognition
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School is committed to developing not only academic excellence but strong Christian character. Our virtue-based program helps students grow in holiness and moral development throughout their educational journey. Each month, we recognize exceptional character growth by presenting a Fruit of the Spirit award to one child in each grade, celebrating students who exemplify virtues such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Schoolwide Service Learning
Our "Light of the World with Love" service learning program empowers every student to live out the Gospel call to serve others. Each grade level focuses on a specific community service project throughout the year, allowing students to make meaningful contributions to their local community while developing a heart for service that will last a lifetime. Through these hands-on experiences, students learn that faith is not just something we believe, but something we actively live through acts of love and service to others.

Community of Faith
At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, spiritual formation extends far beyond the classroom. Through these varied experiences in worship, service, and prayer, we nurture each student's relationship with God while building a strong community rooted in Catholic values and traditions. Our goal is to prepare each child not only academically, but spiritually, for a lifetime of faithful service to God and others.
