Academic Overview


At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, we provide a comprehensive and rigorous academic foundation that nurtures the whole child while fostering intellectual growth, spiritual development, and character formation. Our elementary program is designed to challenge students academically while integrating Catholic values throughout all areas of learning.

Core Curriculum

Our core curriculum ensures students develop essential skills and knowledge across all fundamental disciplines:

  • Mathematics -  Envision Math Curriculum -Students progress through a sequential mathematics program that builds number sense, problem-solving skills, and mathematical reasoning. From foundational concepts in kindergarten through advanced elementary mathematics in fifth grade, students develop confidence and competency in mathematical thinking.
  • Science - Hands on Exploration and FOSS Curriculum - Our science curriculum encourages curiosity about God's creation through hands-on exploration and inquiry-based learning. Students investigate the natural world, develop scientific thinking skills, and learn to appreciate the wonder and complexity of creation.
  • Social Studies - Core Knowledge Curriculum - Students explore their community, country, and world while developing an understanding of geography, history, civics, and cultural diversity. This program helps students become responsible citizens who understand their role in society.
  • Reading and Phonics - Heggerty, UFLI Program, Into Reading Curriculum - Through a comprehensive literacy program, students develop strong reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Literature selections include both classic and contemporary works that support moral development and critical thinking.
  • Handwriting & Cursive - Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum - Beginning in kindergarten, students learn proper handwriting techniques. In third grade, students transition to cursive writing, developing fine motor skills and experiencing this traditional form of written communication.
  • Religion - As the heart of our curriculum, religion classes provide students with a strong foundation in Catholic doctrine, Scripture, and moral teachings. Students participate in prayer, learn about the saints, and develop their relationship with God.
